Friday’s NCAA round-up by Matt Clear
Elon 66 Davidson 59
Davidson fell at the first hurdle in the Southern Conference tournament, losing 66-59 to Elon. The defeat means their season is almost certainly over.
Ben Allison made a solid contribution with six points on 3-6 shooting and six rebounds in 15 minutes.
The Wildcats will be hoping a solid if unspectacular regular season will be enough to earn them a place in the less prestigious NIT or CBI tournaments.
Duquesne 111 Fordham 100
Elsewhere, Duquesne finished up the regular season as expected with a win over Fordham. The Dukes will have to wait on today’s Atlantic-10 results to find out where they’re seeded for the conference tournament.
Mike Williams was relegated to the bench after his poor showing against St Bonaventure. The sophomore centre played only four minutes, grabbing one rebound and missing his only shot.

You have two Brits playing for Fordham in the A10, Daniel Thompson and Fahro Alihordzic. Please give them their props too.

Frank – I would love to, but unfortunately I don’t have the time. There are about 30 British players in Division I, so when starting this column in November, I narrowed it down to a managable list of ten, considering a few different factors. The Fordham guys and Ogo Adegboye (also in the A-10 with St Bonaventure) were probably the last ones out – I’ll try and find a way to squeeze them in next year!

Fordham won two games this season 2-26
Fahro.. started 14 games from the 28 and played 22 mins and scored 5.6 ppg
Danny started 1 game from the 25 he played 11 minutes and scored 0.8 ppg
Charlotte Stoddart is also at this school.
No chance for post season for Davidson
